This article about Google'sdatacenter isn't really new. The article is new, but the concepts aren't. This may be interesting for those of you who have never worked in a large environment, or have never had to fight for power/cooling at a datacenter with the likes of Yahoo or Google. Basically it explains how Google crams servers into containers and uses custom servers. The container thing is a no-brainer, and even the custom servers too. What's always the more interesting subject is the management of all of that equipment. You know deployment, monitoring, tracking, provisioning, etc. You'll notice most people are pretty quiet about that, or they make cryptic references to projects via code words like cookies or some such nonsense when mentioning how that part is done. :)
